2012 Spring Season Boone Hall Farms CSA Agreement

Members of the Boone Hall Farms CSA receive a weekly share of vegetables that will vary in size and weight depending on the time of the spring season. The 2012 spring season for Boone Hall Farms CSA members will run April thru June. CSA members agree to support their farmer by sharing in the inherent risks of agriculture (poor weather, drought, hail, crop failure, etc.) and the rewards (fresh, local fruits and vegetables, the bounty of a good season). CSA farmers carefully plan for contingencies by using growing techniques that protect the harvest, minimize the risks, and optimize the rewards. On the whole, members will get a wide variety of fruits and vegetables in plentiful amounts.

I understand this principle and agree that there is no guarantee on the exact amount or type of produce I will receive in my share. By participating in the CSA, I am supporting the local farmer as well as more equitable food distribution, and I am helping to create a more environmentally and economically healthy society.

By becoming a member, I commit to picking up my share weekly at Boone Hall Farms Market on an assigned pickup day and I understand that if I, or someone I designate, is unable to pick up my share, the produce CANNOT be saved or picked-up at a later date. All produce that is not picked-up on the designated day is donated to a local, charitable organization.

You are welcome to split a share with someone. However, share-splitting is the responsibility of the member; we do not manage the splitting of shares. This includes payment: you are responsible for payment. Do not divide the cost and pay half and have your share-splitter pay half. You pay us for your full share, and have your share-splitter reimburse you for their half. It is our understanding that it is common practice for CSA members to work out arrangements to share with their friends and neighbors, when they have to leave town during the growing season. All members or their share splitters will be required to sign for orders when they are picked up.

The cost for a spring share of the Boone Hall Farms CSA is $250 and this amount should be paid at the time of signup. Once shareholders sign up, there will be no refunds.

We are available to answer all of your questions by phone or through email to ensure that you are comfortable with your decision to become a CSA member. For more information, please contact Andy Berkler at 843-856-8154 or andy@boonehallfarms.com
